You will learn...

…how Baker Perkins' extruders are specifically designed to provide the optimum power needed for industrial applications such as powder coating. Having excess power on the extruder can have a severely detrimental effect to extruder wear, power consumption and increased costs at installation and during production.

…how high free volume geometry is a significant benefit built into all Baker Perkins MPX twin-screw powder coating extruders. It is the outcome of specifying motors offering just the right amount of power for the application and the output required.

…about our latest developments including the MAX³ Feed System, a patent-pending innovation that can lead to a throughput increase of up to 30% on production extruders by addressing the restricted output and torque surges caused by material building up in the extruder feed port.

…from our keynote speaker Kevin Biller (President - Powder Coating Research Group, Inc) how the powder manufacturing process will have to be engineered to accommodate new materials and formulations currently being developed to meet the challenges posed by non-traditional substrates such as composites, plastic, wood and beyond.

MPX24 Integra

A portable, fully integrated powder coating process system suitable for research and new product development as well as tasks such as color matching and small batch production. The MPX24 Integra will be fully demonstrated in our new Innovation Center throughout the showcase.

MP Production Extruders

A comprehensive range of twin-screw extruders for small batch up to high-output continuous production. The extruders have been specifically engineered with features that help to maintain consistent quality while keeping running costs low.

MAX³ Feed System

A re-designed feed port improves the flow of material into the extruder barrel and the air out of it to increase throughput and allow lightweight, low density materials and fines to be handled much more efficiently.

Extrusion Innovation Center

Our new facility offers a dedicated resource for coatings, chemicals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, packaging and construction materials trials.

Our Innovation Centers...

As well as the Innovation Center in Grand Rapids we have just opened a dedicated Industrial Extrusion Innovation Center in the UK. This is a dedicated resource for chemicals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, packaging and construction materials trials alongside full powder coating production facilities and research/development services for a whole range of Industrial Extrusion applications.

It is available for customers looking to develop new products and processes, produce samples or conduct feasibility trials. The Center is particularly relevant for companies exploring a change from batch to continuous processing.

Located at Peterborough in the UK, the Innovation Center offers use of an MPX24 Integra twin-screw extruder with feeder, chill roll and flaking unit. There are also grinding, curing and spraying facilities available plus a full set of analytical instruments to check consistency and quality for characteristics including thickness, gloss and imperfections.

Customers from around the world can work with their own raw materials and are guaranteed complete confidentiality, working alongside Baker Perkins’ technologists to supply data to enable smooth, uncomplicated commissioning of new equipment or development of new products.
